About Anu

I am a Consultant Psychiatrist with over 40 years of experience in helping children, adolescents, adults, and older adults navigate a wide range of mental health concerns. My approach is rooted in empathy, evidence-based care, and the belief that every individual deserves to be heard, understood, and supported with dignity. I completed my MBBS and MD in Psychiatry from Grant Medical College and Sir J.J. Hospital, Mumbai, and have pursued advanced training in psychotherapy, family therapy, clinical hypnotherapy, psychology, and medical education. Over the years, I have had the privilege of working in leading hospitals in India and the United Kingdom, while also serving as Professor and Head of the Department of Psychiatry at Rajiv Gandhi Medical College, Thane. In my practice, I focus on understanding each person's unique experiences before developing an individualized treatment plan. Whether through medication, psychotherapy, counselling, or a combination of approaches, my goal is to help my patients regain emotional well-being, improve daily functioning, and lead fulfilling lives. Alongside my clinical work, I remain actively involved in teaching, research, and advancing mental healthcare. I have authored several books, published research in peer-reviewed journals, and contributed to national and international psychiatric organizations. I am committed to providing compassionate, ethical, and evidence-based care that supports every patient on their journey towards better mental health.
