What is a Trauma IOP?
It’s a structured, time-bound treatment program for those who require more support than weekly therapy.
Through scheduled individual therapy, group therapy, psychiatric care, family involvement where appropriate, and ongoing clinical monitoring, you will receive comprehensive treatment while continuing to live at home and maintain your daily routines.
Compared with traditional weekly therapy, Trauma IOP provides:
- Greater therapeutic support during difficult periods
- Structured treatment several times each week
- Faster skill development and symptom management
- Consistent clinical monitoring
- Peer support through professionally facilitated groups
- Continuity of work, education and family life

Things people often ask
A Trauma IOP is a structured recovery program designed to help you heal from the impact of traumatic experiences while continuing your daily life. It provides more support than weekly therapy through a combination of therapy sessions, group support, clinical guidance, and practical coping tools.
You may benefit from a Trauma IOP if you are struggling with the effects of trauma, such as distressing memories, emotional overwhelm, anxiety, difficulty managing relationships, feeling constantly on edge, or challenges returning to everyday activities.
The program includes trauma-focused group therapy, individual therapy, psychiatric support when needed, and skills-based sessions. Together, these help you understand your experiences, manage difficult emotions, build coping strategies, and work towards lasting recovery.
Samarpan’s Trauma IOP is an 8-week structured program designed to provide consistent support, allowing you to build skills, work through challenges, and track your progress over time.
The program involves approximately 6 hours of structured care each week, including therapy sessions, group work, and clinician-guided support.
Group sessions offer a safe and supportive space to learn about trauma, understand your responses, develop emotional regulation skills, manage triggers, and connect with others who may have similar experiences.
Yes. Individual therapy is an important part of the program, allowing you to work privately with your therapist on your specific concerns, goals, and recovery journey.
Medication is not required for everyone. If needed, our psychiatrists can assess your concerns, discuss treatment options, and provide ongoing support as part of your overall care plan.
Your recovery happens at your own pace. You will not be pressured to share personal experiences before you feel ready. Group sessions focus on building safety, understanding trauma, learning skills, and supporting recovery.
Your care team will regularly review your goals, challenges, and progress to ensure your treatment continues to meet your needs and supports meaningful improvement.
Before completing the program, your care team will help you create a plan for continued growth and support, which may include ongoing therapy, follow-up appointments, or additional resources based on your needs.
At Samarpan, you receive coordinated care from experienced mental health professionals who understand trauma recovery. Our approach combines evidence-based therapies, personalised support, and a compassionate environment to help you move towards healing and resilience.
